While I am not a big fan of films, I have wanted to see the newly released to DVD/Blue-ray, “Julie & Julia” film, starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams (Sony Classics, 2009.) It is based off of two true stories with origins from a book and a blog, ironically enough. Now I am not saying that I would want that to happen in reference to my blog-not at all, actually-these musings of mine are too random to follow at times, let’s be honest.
ANYway, the point of this short blurb is that I began to read the blog that this film was based on a few hours ago. If I had the time, I would read more, but of the little I read, I was somewhat intrigued, even though I did not appreciate certain choice words.
While I have barely read any of the blog thus far, the following line caught my attention right away: “…the thirst to keep finding out, the openness to experience that makes life worth living.” While this was in reference to Julia Child, the famous American chef who began her culinary education at 37 years of age in Paris while her husband worked at the American embassy a few years after World War II, I hope that this is evident in my own life, as well. I hope to always be learning and experiencing-in part to fulfill my insatiable desire for information and knowledge, but also so that I can teach and share with others.
