For as much as I enjoy the Race’s structure, one month in one country, one month in another, and another, and another…
…it was quite difficult for me to say good-bye so soon to the girls in Siem Reap yesterday.
But such is life on the Race.
After 2 bus rides, in the rain and sun, through deserted plains and busy cities, my team and the entire M squad made it to Bangkok Saturday evening, everyone and every pack accounted for.
We are now waiting, transitioning. A debrief session is scheduled for Monday afternoon and within a few days, we will be assigned a contact and ministry. We will most likely be working with girls and women in the red light district of this country’s capital, which is notoriously known for a rampant sex-trafficking industry.
In the meantime, my heart and mind have been wandering and wondering how this month will unfold and how the lessons learned in Siem Reap will be applied here in Bangkok. As I sit in a cafe on this sunny Sunday afternoon, my silent prayer is that God will use these recently-learned lessons for His glory and kingdom.
Time will tell and I hope to be able to write again soon to tell more than just the details of our ministry, but of the people, we are blessed to be able to work with and minister to. As always, I thank God for choosing me to not just physically travel from country to country, but to travel from and away my comfort zone to reach out, grow, love, and be loved by a wide variety of people from countless backgrounds and lives that I can barely begin to understand. I am already seeing growth and change in my life as a missionary this year, and we are only 1/3 of the way through the Race.
