I enjoy planning ahead and preparing in advance so I do not have to deal with the stress that tends to errupt during the last-minute packing or buying of supplies a few hours before a flight.
Which, for when it comes to The World Race, means I have a plastic bin full of supplies and gear for this next year’s adventure in my room. Simone, from the N squad, made fun of me a few months ago, but as I pack up my apartment, sell some possessions, and repaint my dresser and desk for the girl who is moving in two weeks, I find myself getting nervous about all of my supplies and their weight. I am not sure if my pack has the capacity to hold all of my needed supplies. Which, when it comes down to it, could be a “good” thing–or even a ‘blessing.’ How is this? Since I am limited to 10 tees/blouses for next year, this could be a blessing in disguise due to me having to let my vain side slide for this next year. Which will then free me up to focus on our ministry contacts and work at hand, rather than worrying about how I am perceived by my choice of clothes. Which is a ‘blessing.’ A “backpack blessing,” if you will.
