“Shaking Your Body for the Lord
After a long first day of ministry at King’s College in Kampala on Tuesday, our Pastor and contact, Samuel, dropped by with our laundry. His perpetual cheerfulness was a welcomed end to such a beautiful day. I have not had so much fun during a ministry day in weeks, thanks to my newfound love of counseling high school students, lovely meals with our Pastor and his family, time alone in my tent, playing tennis with some students, a nice walk at dusk with Jeanne, singing with Gladys (the housemaid) as we washed dishes after dinner, and worship with a few hundred high school students (which included my running down the church aisle along with students). Quite simply: I had a lot of fun today! It was topped off with Pastor Samuel noting to Leisa that her saw her “shaking her body for the Lord during worship.
I never thought I’d run in church or dance or not worry about what I look like as I sing and worship God—but guess what? I am dancing and not ashamed of it (even if I am still uncoordinated!)
