Hello friends!!
Just a lil ministry update from Thailand!! Our squad as a whole is split up for the rest of our time in Thailand. My team has been placed at Fountain of Hope ministry. It is a children’s home! (15 kids total). We live with the kids and the family that live here. We do chores with them, eat meals together, literally just do life with them! We’re part of the family! We go on family outings with them like going to a wedding, a Chinese New Years village party and going on after school outings to a hot springs near by… not exactly a hot springs you would think but if you wanna know more we can chat about that topic later ;). We have two off days a week, the days they fall on vary. Our “scheduled ministry” is working on the family farm and teaching English at the school down the street where the kids attend. We switch every other week. So we do one week of teaching English class at the school where our ministry host’s husband, Aaron, works. The weeks where we’re on the farm, we she’ll start beans for the family to sell to make money for the kids to go to school! We’re with the kids before school and after school just spending time with them and having fun! They’ve become just like 15 little brothers and sisters!! It really feels just like a family here! Some of my favorite things to do here are help our ministry host, PiSi cook meals. We’ve become great friends so I love just helping her out with things around the home simply to spend time with her and help her out! I haven’t yet mastered the art of Thai Tea or Pad Thai but I still have a month to perfect it!! HAH I’m not kidding…. My other favorite is every Friday and Saturday night we have family movie night. I set up the projector and computer and we all watch a movie together snuggled up with our pillows and blankets. By accident, one of the girls, Mae and I got the genius idea to project the movie on the ceiling. It is now our new favorite thing for movie night!! We’ve watched The Lorax, The Greatest Showman, and Cheaper By the Dozen. The kids will come up to me every day reminding me that we will have movie night on Friday!!
I absolutely love getting to live life with my Thai family!! I feel so at home here! It’s been cool to see how the Lord has really become my home as we move all over the place so often! If you seek the Lord where you are, you will find him. I found Jesus as my home by seeking Him everywhere that I am!! Thanks Jesus!
Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for him with all their hearts. (Psalm 119:2)
SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND (Matthew 7:7)
Sending all my love!
Love, Pi Hannah
PS. We have two pet bunnies and three hedgehogs
PPS. The photos below were taken while I wrote this blog to put a lil perspective into life here!!
PPPS. i was going to stop the blog there but the Lord wants me to encourage you that whatever you’re looking for here on earth you can find in Christ. Seeking love? God is love (1 John 4:8). Seeking peace? Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Seeking newness in a life that has gone bland?? Well He’s got new mercies every morning and there is ALWAYS something new for Jesus to reveal about himself or teach (Lamentations 3:23). I picked up my life and left my earthly home for nine months. I seeked a home and I found Jesus. I left all things I knew, left all my earthly comforts. I seemed comfort and I found Jesus. Whatever you’re seeKing, you can find in Jesus. Seek and you shall find.
