Since Cindy’s birthday we have been sleeping outside and it so amazing to look at the stars as we fall asleep. So the night before my birthday we all got in the tents and went to be! The birthday festivities started right at midnight when out of no where it started raining. Which was insane because not a single drop had fallen in over the two of being here and also I love storms and rain if you didn’t know!! At midnight it rained for a couple minutes then stopped! Then out of no where there was loud music and team screaming Happy Birthday! After that I went back to bed and they woke up at 7 doing the same thing. As I walked into the guest house the table was set up really cute and The kitchen ladies made me a special breakfast of eggs, potatoes, oatmeal (my favorite meal) with a donut and cinnamon rolls. Ik im spoiled rotten!!

Then we went down to see the kids where they all made me cards and sang to me ALL morning!!! My whole morning was spent with my favorite people (all the kids in the children’s village and my teammates).  I then came back up for lunch and more surprises followed.  I was then blindfolded and told to crawl out the window to the van where we then went into the city. We first arrived at a school where I was super confused because I still had no clue what was going on. We meet a family friend of Paige’s naked Heidi and George that I would later find out we would be staying with. They are such incredible people who listened to the lords call and have been loving over seas for years making a huge impact in young people lives. Heidi showed us around the international school she teaches at and I was mind blown! The school had students with over 70 different nationality represented and felt like there was a piece of America in the middle of Africa. Once we left the school we went out to dinner where I had some of the best burgers and fries I’ve had in a long time. Eating dinner with them and talking to new people was such a breath of fresh air. They carry so much wisdom and love and all of us were trying to soak up all the knowledge they had. The night then carried on as we went back to there house where their was JUNK FOOD AND A CAKE! And yes all of us were  overwhelmed and cried. As we ate the AMAZING cake my team showed me a video they made of the children singing me happy birthday and saying what they live about me. And no surprise I lost it!! I cried so much and was so touched by that video which will forever be one of my favorite birthday present. Everything about this birthday was so incredible! From my teaming loving me so well, Heidi and George allowing us to stay with them and all the simple gestures were so kind and made me feel so loved! The rest of the weekend was a blast as well. We spent more time at the school for an international festival, went to such a cool fabric store and just hung out. It was a birthday full of laughs, happy tears and memories! By far one of my favorites!
