“The great word of Jesus to His disciples is abandon.”
So, I’m headed out on the World Race. You can more read about ‘Who‘ I am in the About Me section of the blog. Now it’s time for a few more nuts and bolts.
What – The World Race is an 11 month mission trip, lead by Adventure in Missions. It centers on living in real, honest and vulnerable community with other Jesus followers and working WITH God to bring his Kingdom into our present day and age. We will be working through local partners in fields, at orphanages, in coffee shops, outside clubs and with churches to both teach and learn more about Jesus on Earth. Although that answer sounded real confident, I should add that I don’t have a very clear idea of what God has gotten me into… just that it is going to be humble service to the poor and vulnerable.
Where – The route is heading for Mozambique, Swaziland, Madagascar, Mongolia, China, India, Nepal, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and El Salvador. It sounds like the whole squad (50+ people) travels to these countries and then our smaller teams (6-7 people) will be sent to different ministry sites around the country to serve specific needs. Also, there is always the possibility that routes, countries and plans may change:)
When – I am scheduled to leave in January 2017 and will be gone for the next 11 months, most of the 2017 calendar year! I will be attending a 10 day intensive Training Camp at the World Race Headquarters in Georgia this October!
