Flying to Mongolia was a treat. 50 hours of traveling, a 16 hour layover in New York, a re-routing in China, barely making our connecting flight to Mongolia, and an 8 hour bus ride to our ministry site. Mongolia is beautiful. Dirt roads are the main means of transportation and they snake everywhere through the mountainous terrain. The houses and apartment buildings are every color you can imagine. Our host ministry is short walking distance from our apartment(yes, we get a two bedroom apartment complete with a toilet and shower!) where we will be teaching english three times a day. We got to meet an American missionary couple who just got here a few weeks ago and are in the process of learning the Mongolian language.
Did you know that Mongolia sends out more missionaries than any country in the world? For every 200 Mongolian christians, 1 missionary is sent out. America is number thirty-four on that list.
It still hasn’t hit me that I am actually on the Race. A short 7 months ago I started fundraising and God blew me out of the water with so many supporters and answered prayers! So excited to see whats in store for the next 11 months!
