Parent Vision Trip (PVT) is a week where Racers get to invite their parents to the field!

And I am so thankful that my parents were able to come to spend a week with me in Tbilisi, Georgia!

It was an absolutely wonderful week to catch up and to bring them into my world on the field.

It was such a sweet time of sharing stories, worshipping, learning about listening prayer, and doing outreach in the city together.

We shared in communion and prayed blessings over one another. And we even got to go skiing on our free day in the mountains!

It was a powerful and exciting week.

My dad wanted to share one of his experiences from PVT:

“One of the most impactful events that I experienced was on Wednesday morning.  The night before, Sara, one of the racers in charge of the week, prepped us for a surprise visit of some local believers. I assumed that they were going to be from the Georgian church.  I was wrong.

Maalik, a short Iranian man, had fire billowing out of his mouth as he told us how he met Jesus, as a Muslim, in the middle of Iran.  I had heard rumors of how many Muslims come to Jesus through “Paul like” conversions. Where they are confronted directly by Jesus through visions, dreams and even face to face encounters.   However, this was the first time that I was able to hear this kind of conversion firsthand.

His opening before his testimony was somewhat dramatic, or so I first thought, as he asked for the windows to be closed as to not let the neighbors overhear him talk.  He also demanded that the only Iranian female named Mary to leave the room. He said that he did this to protect her and other Iranian Christians. In his boldness to share his testimony he was still careful not to unnecessarily risk his or his family’s lives.

He told about one night that he saw Jesus walk through his wall and spent 4 hours with him.   Maalik spent most of the time shaking in fear as he spent time with Jesus. His life would never be the same.

He said that he was “transformed” and that he led all his family to Christ.  I was sad to hear that it came with the cost of his brother being martyred.

Maalik then shared his vision of evangelizing to Iran and its neighboring Islamic countries.

I learned most that God does not look at our religion, but how much we seek Him.  He will meet us where we are, no matter where we come from or what we have believed all our lives.”

It was such a powerful time with these believers from persecuted nations. At the end of our time, some other Americans that work in some of these closed nations announced an invitation to all of us present…get READY…

They invited us TO COME TO IRAN in September!! Like FOR REAL! More to come on that later 🙂

Spending a week with the squad and many of our parents was so so life-giving! The presence of our parents brought so much energy and encouragement to the squad. It was such a fruitful week.

I’m so thankful for such a sweet week with my mom & dad! And I can’t wait to see them in just a few short months 🙂
