“introducing first…. from the red corner… she hails from South-West, Ohio. With 52 wins, 38 of them coming by the way of knockout, and only 4 defeats. She is, the former gymnast, former Mish member, super awesome person, former college student, and current GAP J WORLD RACER, HANNAH MARIE TRINDA HEISMANN!!!”
In a nutshell, I feel like this is me. I have conquered many obstacles, both big and small. I have achievements and losses, and I keep fighting. The thing is, that this announcement leaves out a few details. Sure, I’m a good person, and I have had a lot of experiences, lessons, and successes. I wouldn’t have had these things without all the people that are standing right behind me. Crowded in my corner.
Since April, when I got accepted into the World Race, I immediately got support. Support from people I would have never expected. This whole process of fundraising, asking people to help you fund a 9 month mission trip, has been crazy, but at the same time it is full of people who love me, support me, and believe that I am going to 3 countries expecting to change the lives of those who are in need.
I am overwhelmed. I am blessed by all the people who have lined up to say, “I’ve got your back” Now you may not have said this verbally, but I hear it in every donation, the big and the small. Every message I get on Facebook saying “Hey, you are doing great things, I’m praying for you”. These are the things that give me goosebumps and reassures me that this is where God is placing me.
I am also excited that the days that we do have off, we get to indulge on some of the touristy things that each country has. For the other 6 out of the 7 days of the week I will be covered in dust from building a school. I will be exhausted after hanging out with orphan children all day. I will be broken after seeing the destruction and hurt that the towns in Ecuador, India and Zambia hold.
That is why I am going on this trip. I am going to take care of the orphans and the widows. I am going to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and heal the sick. I am going to be the hands and feet of Jesus. You know why? Because God called me to do so. When I read Matthew 18: 16-20, I know that God is talking to me. I am supposed to go and make disciples of all nations. I am a vessel of the Lord who is going out and moving the hearts of unbelievers, changing the viewpoints of corrupt church leaders, and overall helping the least of these. (Matthew 25:40)
So, Thank you, to all who have donated and participated in my FUNdraisers. I know that my iPad Mini-Me and I can be a little much sometimes, but I hope that you are having as much fun following her as I am promoting her. I want to thank all the people who have reached out with encouragement and prayers.
Thank you, all, for standing in my corner, for supporting me in the journey that God is about to take me on. I reached $10,000 today. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you and all of your support. I still have $3700 to go. I know that God will provide. I just hope you all know how much I appreciate each and every one of you who has got my back.
Thank you for reading!
God bless!
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”- Matthew 16-20
