Part 3 of My Wholeness Journey Recap

~ Spirit ~

“…For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:30

As part of my Wholeness Journey, I was seeking to dive deeper in my faith.  I just want more – always.  And more is exactly what I found.

I was lying on Jaco beach after doing a Christian yoga session led by Jess (the other Wholeness Journey founder).  With my eyes closed and body relaxed, a beautiful image of Creator God came to mind.  His face was old and weathered, yet warm and soft.  It had a glow of warm honey and a radiance like the sun.  But it was His eyes that captivated me the most.  They sparkled with all the colors of the rainbow, they were deep with knowledge and understanding, and they had seen everything there was and ever will be to see.  They were all knowing and yet so gentle.

I saw Creator God on a beach in Costa Rica.

You might think that sounds crazy, but that is what I saw in my mind.

You see, I think Creator God wants us all to see Him.  He wants us all to experience Him in our own way.  For me, He was there on a beach.  For you, he might be in your car in the passenger seat beside you.  He might be in the beauty of nature – or in your quiet peaceful place.  What I do know, is that God will meet you wherever you are – whenever you seek him.

One of the exercises we did as retreatants during the Wholeness Journey, was listening prayer.  During that time, we sat in quiet contemplation and asked God a question.  We then freely wrote whatever came to mind – without judgement or preconceived notion.  We simply wrote.

We then got into small groups and discussed what we wrote and heard from the Lord.  As believers, we affirmed or challenged one another by discussing and looking to scripture to see if what we heard was in alignment with the bible.

My question was quiet clear: “Should I go on The World Race?”  And I received a very clear answer:  Yes (in flashing lights).

Just like how I saw Creator God on the beach, I heard the voice of God through listening prayer, the affirmation of other believers, and the solid confirmation found in the bible:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

– Matthew 28:19-20

For me, that is the ultimate example of rest; that God is accessible – and that He cares.  His yoke is easy and his burden is light.  …’Light’ meaning easy to carry, but what if He wants to unburden you by ‘shedding light’ to answers you are searching for…and even, if you haven’t found Him yet?  The spirit of God moves in ways beyond my understanding.  My prayer is that he moves in you beyond yours.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

My Wholeness Journey was an experience of a lifetime.  It showed me how we can connect with Jesus in mind, body and spirit for ultimate rest.  And it confirmed in my mind, body and spirit that I am meant to go on The World Race.  I can’t wait for him to fill in the rest…

With Love,

Hannah
