Hey y’all!
My name is Hannah Lindsey! I am a senior Organizational Communications major at Lubbock Christian University! I am so excited that I have this amazing opportunity to travel to Thailand in the summer of 2020 for two months! I can’t wait to share this journey with friends and family through prayer, blog posts, fundraising, and support (:
I have never been out of the country and if I’m being honest, I never thought that I’d be going to Thailand or any place out of the U.S., as a matter of fact. Growing up, my older sister and younger brother were always the ones that felt burdened for going overseas and sharing the gospel to the lost. I never really felt as though I had a “calling” or had been burdened to go overseas and share the gospel with others. But over this summer, the Lord started working on my heart little by little.
Little did I know that each person that was placed in my life this summer, each event that took place and every type of experiences I had was being used by God to soften my heart and give me a willing spirit. And eventually, I found World Race and didn’t give applying a second thought!
I believe when we come to love the Lord more and to know him more, He gives us a new look and perspective into his heart. We find that we start to look more like him and understand his heart. I believe that the Lord has been working in my life and teaching me to follow in his path even closer. Jesus shared the gospel with all around him. He gave up his time to bring the good news. Now going overseas may not be a calling for my life , or it might, but what I know is that as a follower of Christ why would I not go overseas a couple of times in my life and do some wonderful kingdom work? Missions can happen anywhere. You don’t have to go overseas to share the gospel. But I am thankful that I get to have this experience, because it shows that the Lord is softening my heart to his good and perfect plans for me. (:
