Hi Friends!

I am officially in Malaysia with Team Vessels of Joy! This month has been a big adjustment for us because it is the first month where we haven’t been living with another team. It’s had its hard moments, but it has also been so amazing. A huge pull to the World Race for me was the desire to learn to live in a community who relies on the Lord and each other. It has been amazing getting vulnerable with them, trusting them, learning from them, growing with them, and just having straight up FUN!

My FINAL fundraising deadline is January 31st and I am currently $3,400 away from my goal! It would mean so much to me if you would prayerfully consider being a financial partner this Christmas season! Click here to donate, paypal me by clicking here,  or venmo me at hannah-latone.

 Thank you!

This month in Malaysia, were are partnering with a local church to put on Christmas Programs, Christmas caroling, as well as helping out in their weekly church services. We also have the opportunity to do prayer walks each morning and pray over the town and people of Changlun.

Many things that we have been praying for can be summed up in one prayer:

That a new productive generation would rise up, would come to know the Lord, and glorify Him in everything they do.

We have been praying for the economy, for the business owners and that the Lord’s favor would fall down on them.

I believe that when (not if, but WHEN) this new generation rises up that it will create a ripple effect that would cause every other issue in the town (i.e. prostitution, gambling, drugs) to fall away in the name of Jesus.

But in the meantime, lets pray for the people that are trapped in the midst of it.

The bus station in Changlun is a last place the men go before they leave for Thailand to go to the Red Light Districts.

The hotels in Changlun are the meeting places for the majority of the sex trafficking that goes on here.

Right behind where we are staying is a beautiful neighborhood. We took a walk through it and saw so much beauty. There were beautiful flowers, greenery, kids playing, and beautiful homes. You would never know that the neighborhood is home to a huge drug operation.

My teammates and I have been praying that the supply would be cut off and that the activity would be stopped.

We’ve been praying that there would be an opportunity for those trapped in prostitution to have a new life. That they would come to know the Lord and would know that any shame they feel would be covered with grace.

We’ve been that praying those participating in prostitution would learn that few moments of pleasure they feel can’t even compare to the glory that the Lord could give them.

We’ve been praying that any addictions to drugs, sex, or even gambling would be broken in the name of Jesus. And if there are any generational curses attached to these people concerning these issues or any other issues, that those generational curses would end here.

We’ve been praying that these people would come to know the Lord in a radical way. The hardest thing about being in Malaysia has been not being able to talk to the people about Jesus. Its actually illegal to evangelize in Malaysia. So please pray that they would have a divine encounter with the Lord.

In Malaysia, the percentage of Christians is about 9%. With the restrictions on evangelizing, the Churches here hold on to a lot of fear when it comes to sharing the Gospel. I pray that any Spirit of Fear would be replaced with a zeal and urgency in finding new brothers and sisters in Christ. I have experienced this fear myself and, honestly, it makes you feel like you are already in prison. But then the Lord reminded me of Ephesians 4:1 when Paul says, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” I am not to live in fear, but to pursue the calling I have been given. To instead live as a prisoner for the Gospel. I also pray that the local churches would live out their calling. That they would intentionally ask God for what their purpose is and they would pursue it.

It would mean so much to me if y’all would join in with me in prayer! I also would love to hear any prayer requests you might have! Drop them in the comments below or send me a direct message on facebook or instagram!
