Listening Prayer is a really cool thing I’ve learned about and practiced since being on the race.

Listening Prayer is when you block out all surroundings and just listen to what the Lord has to say. Sometimes this looks like feeling a pull to pray for a specific teammate, the direction of your future becoming more clear, or even sitting in a circle with a group of people and speaking out loud what we feel like God has laid on our hearts to share with one another.

Throughout the past couple of months we have done this many times. It has led us to go out and ask people if we can pray for them in El Salvador. It’s lead to squad mates healing ailments in Guatemala. And in Honduras, we’ve kept in low key and decided we needed to pray for one another.

The past few months, my teammates and squad mates have spoken so many positive words over me in the form of notes, prayer, and feedback. I would like to share some of the words that I have been given thus far. I’m not doing this to boast about the “compliments” I’ve been given or to prove that I’m a “perfect” missionary (I’m not), but to show you that the Lord can speak through everyone you need only to listen. It’s also really, really motivating and and incredibly encouraging when someone says something that is EXACTLY what you needed to hear.

So hear is goes. These are some of the things that I have been given…
* Wise
* Humbly gifted
* Your voice holds power when drenched in kindness and from being known and loved FULLY by the Lord
* God IS and WILL use your words of wisdom to bring people home to Him
* Your friends are going to notice a change in you
* You are devoted to the Lord
* Steadfast
* Carrier of compassion
* Deeply rooted
* Firm foundation
* Full of hope
* Dark horse
* Gentle
* Ready for challenge
* Passion and pursuit of the Lord
* Encouraging
* Down to earth
* Lead by example
* You are irreplaceable
* Your joy is contagious
* Steady
* Adored, beautiful, and worthy of love
* Delicate warrior

I hope that this encourages you all to do the same for your own personal lives and what God has for you as well as for all the people in your lives. It’s so very easy to think badly and shame ourselves when we are not letting the Lord tell us what we had to say.

So go!

Go find a comfy spot, settle down, close your eyes, erase your mind of all distractions, and listen. Listen for the Lord. I’m positive He has SO much to tell you!

Love,
Banana
