Hey everyone! As I start this new journey, I just wanted to let y’all get to know me a little bit so you can see how God is working and will work through my life over the next few months!
I am currently eighteen years old and am a Sophomore at Campbellsville University. As of right now, I am pursuing a degree in Business Accounting, which I am super excited about (especially since it’s math!). I am a lover of all things outdoorsy, SunDrop, and Disney. During the summer, you can find me in the retail section at Cracker Barrel, probably goofing off with some awesome co-workers! When I’m not at Cracker Barrel working, you can find me at the lake with friends or eating at Dairy Hill or my new favorite restaurant, Fast Eddie’s. I would like to think of myself as a food connoisseur! One of my greatest joys in life is finding new restaurants with fantastic food while traveling. Now that you know a little bit more about me, I’ll introduce you to some of my favorite people in my life! When I’m not at college, I live in the Kendall house that is full of personality! My dad, Joe, the ultimate jokester, and fix-it man. If there’s one thing he can do, it’s make you laugh, but he’s also a great leader and even more so since I’ve graduated high school. Next is my mom Jennifer. If two could think on the same page always, this would describe my mom and me. She’s the best advice giver and pushes me to pursue God and be the best I can be. Now for the fun sister edition, God blessed me with! Ashley, who is two years younger than me, is the most resilient, loyal, and enthusiastic person I know. She’s my built-in best friend who always keeps me on my toes in all the best ways. We also have four little fur babies that keep the house full of entertainment. Sassy, the alpha yorkiepoo, runs the house with her little eight mighty pounds of sass. Chipper, the shihtzu, is the house’s grandpa and is calm and collected unless there’s a storm. Fancy and Callie, the two cats of the house, are the ultimate duo of sleeping all day and crazy all night.
So now that you got a little insight into me and my life, I want to give you a little background to how God has been working on me over my lifetime.
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was six at my school’s weekly chapel service but fully didn’t understand the relationship aspect of salvation until about thirteen. Before I was even saved, I wanted to be a missionary and travel across the world. In middle school, my only desire was to travel to Eastern Africa and spread The Good News of the Gospel and Jesus’ love to others. The timing and circumstances had never worked out like I had wanted it to, so I put the thought to the back of my mind but little did I know God would have something already planned. Fast forward about six years later, and God just laid on my heart that I didn’t need to spend my entire summer working at a job I was growing weary of. I began to look into different mission trips and remembered a speaker who came to my school and mentioned The World Race in my freshman year of high school. Not looking for anything particular, I stumbled upon a trip to Ethiopia, skimmed it, and kept looking. As I continued to seek direction from God as to where I was supposed to go, He just kept telling me to go and serve where my heart desired. It still amazes me how God works even the smallest details for his glory and his purpose.
So as I go through the process of serving over in Ethiopia this summer, this is where you can get all the updates and inside scoops as to what God is doing in my life and the lives of others! I can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned!
