Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!

Let me begin by telling you a little bit about myself.  I just turned twenty and I’m the oldest of five kids.  I grew up on a small, ten- acre family farm, and I absolutely loved it!  I now live in Live Oak, a tiny town in Florida… it has a population of about 7,000 people- yeah, that tiny folks!

My family is so supportive of me going on the World Race and they’re beyond excited for me… I actually think they just want me gone.  No!  I’m just joking; they would come with me if they could!!!

Things I am looking forward to the most while on the race:

Growing in my relationship with Christ:  I am so pumped to focus solely on Christ for nine straight months.  I find it so easy to get distracted by the world and what’s going on around me, and often times my Redeemer gets buried or set aside for a time.  However, this year, for the nine months I’ll be on the race, my sights will be focused wholly on Him!  I will have the opportunity to spend more time in the word and live as Christ did.

Stepping outside of my comfort zone:  Stepping out of my comfort zone has never been easy… I don’t think it’s easy for anyone!  But I firmly believe that Christ calls us to step out of our comfort zone- Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”.  It’s like how Theodore Roosevelt said it, “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty”.

Community:  There’s something special to me about community.  Community is where people come together, support one another, love on each other, and encourage each other.  I already know that this “community” is going to be priceless because we are all coming together to spread the word of God and worship in His glory!  I literally can’t wait!

Adventure:  I love outdoorsy, adventurous stuff.  I’ll admit that I’m the type of person who’s affected by her surroundings, and while I think that’s a bad thing because it does have such an effect on me, I also see it as a blessing.  I can’t imagine living life without stopping to take in and explore the beauty God created around me.  The World Race is going to be full of awe- inspiring, jaw dropping experiences, moments, and scenery.

I want to live a radical life for Christ, not just on the race, but for the rest of my life.
