Uncomfortable. Stretched. Refreshed. Happy. Exhausted. Free.

Those would just be some of the words I would use to describe how I’m feeling by the end of these 10 days. As soon as we arrived on campus, we were met with rain. And it just kept raining. I had never camped before, nor had I ever slept in a tent. So, the first hour of camp already had me out of my comfort zone. They led us out to our campsite in this clearing of trees which was beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Time to quickly set up camp then run to our first worship service. We were all soaking wet and not even the best microfiber towel could help us..

Worship. That was one of my favorite things about this entire experience. I quickly learned that worship amongst these people was full of abandonment and trust that God is good. No matter the circumstance or how I feel, God is good.

The first few days were packed with sessions from amazing speakers, crazy sleep scenarios(find your tent buddy!) and an intro to different cultures with different themes of meals. Pretty excited for all of the Asian food on this trip!

As the days went on, I began to learn more about this amazing squad that I get to call family this year. Every person on this squad has an incredible story of how God has gotten them to this point in their lives.

By the end of training camp, I have a new family to do life with, a new sense of abandonment, a ton of memories, and a fresh start.. I also decided to get baptized and rededicate my life to Christ. He called me to this life and this journey, and I’m proud to represent Him.
