As Month 7 was soon approaching I heard many comments about people’s experiences while in India. Many people were starting to get a little anxious and nervous about India. Personally, I was never nervous for my time spent in India. However I did mentally prepare myself that it might be a hard month for me.
Thoughts were whirling around in my head as I flew from Nepal to India.
Was it really going to be as hot as everyone says it is?
Will I be able to handle the food?
What will my living conditions be?
Etc…
Well, after 4 weeks in India I can personally say that India has been like the promise land filled with delicious milk and honey! We have been so blessed and loved by our hosts, Paul and Anita Victor. They have welcomed us into their home in Bangalore, the IT capital of India.
This city is very diverse and happening. We quickly learned to bi-pass some of the training we received about cultural norms and dress code, as where we were staying was very casual/Americanized.
The last two months of the race were hot and hard. So coming into month 7 we were hoping for a month of rest. And wow we got it! God has been so good to us this month. We have amazing hosts, a wonderful house to stay in with AC, WiFi, nice showers, toilets, the most delicious food cooked by the sweetest lady Mona who makes sure the food isn’t super spicy. Praises!
This month we are partnering with the Victors church called Capstone World Outreach Center. We also get to teach at Capstone Community School throughout the week, as well as minister to the kids in the slums. Every morning we wake up around 8am to have a morning devotion with the teachers (us), Anita and another lady named Montha. We help teach various subjects and grades. This month I have the awesome opportunity work alongside my super talented teammate Chelsy! We teach kindergarten and it’s loads of fun!! I have really enjoyed getting to use some of the things I learned in school and at Kings Kids Daycare. Shout out to Mrs Kee!:)
Once we are done teaching we sit down with Pastor Paul and have our minds blown (in the best way). He disciples us in God and the scriptures. He asks us the hard and deep questions that make us stop and think about our past, present and future. He has shown us the true gospel and has sat down with us to help us figure out our vision and calling in the kingdom of God. We have been mentally, emotionally and spiritually stretched this month to the max, but it’s been so worth it! Pastor Pauls prayer and hope for us was that we leave here feeling rested, renewed and restored. (And Oh man oh man we sure have!)
From the moment we arrived in Bangalore early Sunday morning on the 8th of July, I knew that it was a true divine appointment that we were placed with the Victors this month. This month has been so sweet and I will forever be thanking God and the Victors for allowing their home to be a safe haven for us seasoned, tired world racers.

PSA: The Victors need your help! Their van burned down a couple of months ago and have no means of transportation. We are asking for you to prayerfully consider supporting them with the means so they can afford to put down a down payment on a new vehicle. This vehicle will be a huge blessing and aid to them; so that way they can transport their kids, friends and future World Race teams to wherever the Lord leads. Please comment below or message me on Facebook if you would like to donate! 🙂 Thanks everyone!!
Blessings,
Hannah
