Driving through the mountains to get to Harbu Chulu I witnessed many people stumbling along the bumpy street and God presented me with the saying “break my heart for what breaks yours.” I really didn’t know in the moment what situations this was going to be brought back up in or how God was using it to grow me. Turns out today was the day He was going to bring it full circle for me.

Fast forward to this morning, Kaylen and I had plans to go to the market to get ingredients for our squad leader Louis’ birthday cake with our ministry host Dagi. God quickly changed those plans through a little boy in the kids village. He had  a worm somehow burrowed into his leg, we think it was because they are constantly playing in the fields. As we left the property we had to carry Him on our backs all the way to the clinic. Just the smallest of things as having to get sick or injured people to the clinic by foot is incredibly difficult. It was a moment of this is life for them here and gratitude for all God gives. As we stepped into the clinic there were many sick or injured people. I had a heavy call and weight on my heart instantly to pray, I kept thinking “God who needs prayer?” If I could pray over everyone I came in contact with there I would have! It was so hard to go into the room and see the little kid in so much pain, as the doctor took the worm out. Tears quickly coming, I just kept praying “Jesus take away His pain.” Then as me and my squad mate Margee hung outside the room hearing him cry, while he got injections, I chose to pray out loud with her. It was emotional and hard but prayer is so powerful!

I had a major awe moment of wow God must always feel this pain when seeing us in hurt ourselves. He feels all that we feel. I had the revelation that really if you want to love people the way Jesus does then we must open our hearts up to not only the good moments but all the hurt and broken they experience. Expose myself to their pain so I may love them through it all!  If you don’t feel, then are you really loving that person well? He changed my plans today to show me just how He feels when loving us and how He wants me to live a life of love without borders. When we often are thinking it’s too painful or difficult to love that person, our father often thinks how best CAN I love them. When we love like He desires us to we put our hearts on the line and invest into the people around us. In this way we can show the Lord to individuals too by becoming Jesus through us becoming love to the ones around us. Showing unfailing compassion through the hard situations. Go out and love with intentionality, have a heart like Jesus! Your heart will be broken but it is far worth the life God is then calling you into. A life of earnest relationship and love freely.
