two blog posts in one day yeah!! anyways, i thought it’d be cool to introduce the sweet sweet people here….MY TEAM!!!! I love them a lot and am super thankful for them and our vulnerability.
We are Team Zao which is Greek for “live”. The definition is “to enjoy real life, active, blessed, and endless in the Kingdom of God.” I took photos of everyone to give you guys a real idea of who they are haha.
First up!
REGAN MARTIN!!!
Regan is my team leader. She went on her own race last year and left home in Indiana again to come lead us!! She knows the Lord like I’ve never seen and has the kindest heart, for real. I feel like the other teams should be jealous they don’t have Regan. She’s my favorite introvert but don’t quote me on that
GRACE LEUSCHNER
Texas girl and makes sure everyone knows it. Enneagram 8 and no one’s made me feel more at home than this one. If there’s a time that you’re around Grace and not laughing, she must be sleeping, because she’s always (like, always) laughing. I can always count on her to take the trek to the campsite to get a last minute thing and I mean it literally and metaphorically!
ABI KIDD!!!
Abi is the most gentle spirit. If you ever need a quiet or still moment, you can count on her. I’m already super proud of who she’s becoming and I can’t wait to be able to know her and her heart deeper. She likes to run which is more than I can say, haha! If you don’t know Abi, you gotta. she’s fierce and strong like no other.
SOPHIA PORTER !!
Sophia is from Colorado and fun fact, she actually told us she wasn’t coming a week before we launched!! The Lord definitely wanted her here, and I haven’t seen anyone dive so wholeheartedly into the Race like she has. Couldn’t be team Zao without her.
ALEX HENRICKSON!!
Oh boy, lemme tell you about Alex. She’s my favorite little bean, and you can’t describe her without meeting her. The sweetest and most caring girl there ever has been. Just as an example, she pre bought and wrapped birthday presents for all of us and even memorized our birthdays. She’s always looking for how to love us better and I couldn’t even imagine the Race without this one.
KATE POGUE!!
We have a joke where we always call Kate granola, but that’s honestly the best way to describe her. Super wise and thinks deeply. Today is her birthday and I wish I could give her all the good things in the world!! I know I’ll be friends with her for a long time post-race. You can see how she radiates joy even through the camera!
ESTHER COLLINS!!
Esther is a giver, truly. I could ask her to do the most inconvenient thing and she would hike halfway across the country to do it for me. She also does makeup and cuts hair, so if you see me with a random haircut, look that way (lol) She says “amen” after everything which is pretty funny, but I say amen that she’s on my team!!
HANNAH GAZAN!!
you guys already know me, but here’s proof I’m doing well and love my team.
you’ll probably see a lot of these beautiful and wise ladies a lot in the next 9 months. They’re my go-to girls and I love them a lot
