whats up??!! haven’t written anything yet because I have no idea what in the world I’d actually choose to write about, so here’s a little update about what life looks like! I’ve been Gainesville, Georgia doing discipleship at the Adventures in Missions base for the last week.

First of all, I AM FULLY FUNDED!!!! this is so exciting and I seriously couldn’t have done this journey without all of YOU! The Lord has blessed me big for real. Only the Lord could raise $16,000 and I for real stand by that. You people are generous and let the Lord use you in such awesome ways!! Thank you everyone – even $1 givers got me here

Days look crazy, they’re all filled with a lot of laughter, dancing, and sometimes tears (the good kind, mostly lol) Our squad ( Gap F ) is currently separated into cohorts for the first 14 days for covid so my team shares a campsite with the boys team. The days are hot and evenings are cool so a couple of us like to sleep in our hammocks. Besides the enormous amounts of mosquito bites on my body, I’ve adjusted really well at the campsite and actually love it a lot. You can almost always hear soft guitar and singing in the background and it’s one of my favorite parts. Life definitely looks different, lots of long walks to the porta-potties and seeing a giant snake above you during your bucket shower doesn’t seem too out of the ordinary. It feels weird to think I’ve been here 10 days and I already catch myself calling tent “home” and these people my best friends. I completed the dreaded 2.2 mile uphill hike with my 50 pound pack on with time to spare! I also learned a lot about the Lord and His character through the hike, which I never thought I’d say about a run. I’m learning that you can learn a lot about Him in the smallest activities which is pretty cool to experience. I’ve learned so much and fallen into deeper love with the Father that I never thought I could experience. It’s honestly hard to write a post about what I’m doing over what I’m learning. With that being said, here’s what a normal day looks like for me!

7:00 – wake up :: brush teeth and face with my water bottle, wave at my friends in the other cohort from 6 feet away (sad) and walk down the hill to breakfast

8:00 – Breakfast :: usually pretty good tbh. Today we had yummy breakfast burritos!

9:00 – Devo Time :: the first week our leaders will lead how they do devos which has been pretty fun and definitely super fruitful. no music or distractions, most of the time I feel like I’m just hanging out with God which is cool.

10:00 – Worship & Session! :: we have awesome leaders and AIM staff that teach these sessions. My favorites have been how to fall in love with the word, the cost of being a disciple, and being the church.

12:30 – Lunch!

1:30 – Squad Time :: Really sweet. Cohorts have to be across the room but we usually play fun games or just get to know each other better. Yesterday, we talked about what it means to serve others and each other, so the leaders and teammates washed our feet which was a beautiful representation of servanthood within community, especially after our session on vulnerability.

3:00 – Rotations :: this looks different every day. sometimes exercises (we did Just Dance and worked out on Thursday) Tuesday is laundry day which looks like a bunch of clotheslines and buckets, haha. Today is sabbath, so we prioritize resting and spending time with the Lord all day (yay for rest!!)

5:30 – Dinner!

6:30 – Team Time. also looks different everyday. we have gratitude day, week debrief, feedback, worship, just depends! After that is usually just hang out time. I usually like to take a walk and then look at the stars before bed every night. Overall, life is genuinely really sweet and simple.

now that we’ve got the updates out of the way, I can start writing all about what’s going on in my life and heart!

Much love always,

Hannah 🙂
