As a break from university, my life includes full time work as a medical receptionist, classes in Te Reo Maori and running youth group at The Well Church. Come November 2018, I’ll leave New Zealand for a year on the World Race – an 11 month 11 country Christian mission trip.
A real unease has been growing within me at the distance between my easy life in Western New Zealand and how most of our world actually lives. The injustices of cyclical poverty, human trafficking, sex slavery, oppression, limited education and corruption make me passionate for change, at any level. And I truly believe that the best antidote to injustice is Jesus Christ and the coming of his holistic kingdom. A kingdom of justice, restoration, reconciliation and grace. I’m feeling called to go, see and act in ways that restore peace and wholeness. To pursue and facilitate places where the space between heaven and earth is thin. The call in Isaiah 58 to be a “rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes” has pulled me to the World Race – I’m going to partner with and encourage local ministries in their restoration of ‘home’ and Christ rootedness in their communities. No saviour complex, just partnering with King Jesus and his Church in the light that is already springing up all over this beautiful earth.
The World Race is run by Adventures in Missions – a non denominational, non profit Christian mission organisation based in America. They have sent out more than 110,000 missionaries (5,000 World Racers) since starting in 1989. Their heart for the World Race is to share the love of Jesus and serve others throughout the world alongside fostering intense community and discipleship in each team. You can read more about it here: www.worldrace.org. Myself and a squad of 30ish people will spend one month in each of the following countries: Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, Botswana, Bulgaria, Serbia, Spain, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. We’ll split into smaller teams for ministry in each country.
I would love to invite you into this journey with me.
Firstly, I crave your prayers. I’m so aware of the inadequacy of my own independent strength – so I ask that you remember myself and my squad in your prayers in the months leading up to launch, and especially while on the field. You can subscribe to my blog for updates and prayer points: www.hannahfrauenstein.theworldrace.org
Secondly, like most missionaries, I am required to raise financial support. $26,100 (18,800 USD) is needed to cover all travel, food and accommodation on the Race. Would you consider financially supporting me – with a one time gift or as a monthly donor? To save conversion charges, feel free to deposit directly to the following account (from which I will make lump transfers to Adventures in Missions). Alternatively, you can give online through my aforementioned blog site (click the orange ‘donate’ button in the top right corner).

Thank you for joining me in this next chapter. Life itself is mission as we partner with what God is doing wherever He has placed us! Let us be faithful together.
Yours sincerely,
