It’s beginning to set in and actually feel real, that in just a short week we will be saying goodbye, and heading to Thailand. As moving forward sounds great, leaving Guatemala is definitely going to be hard to do. Saying goodbye to all the friends we have made over the last 3 months in Los Caralos, and Cohalwaltin is something I thought was so far away, but came so fast. We have gotten really close to some families in the village, especially Senovia’s family, Maria, Yolandas family,Alvero´s family, and Cecilia´s family. So I just wanted to share a little bit about each family or person.

Senovia´s family- A women chasing after the fathers heart. The first time we ever met Senovia she told us that her son Danny had a bump on his head, that they hoped would get better but hadn’t been. So we decided to pray and ask for healing over Danny. As time went on we continued visiting and building a relationship with Senovia’s family. She would tell us that her husband would not pray, even if she wanted to pray together. She told us that eventually her husband began praying to God and now he cries out to God in his prayers. She would tell us how encouraging it was for us to come and keep visiting and pouring into her life and she just shared how much she has grown in her faith and prayer life.

Maria- A lady we visited and we asked her what she did during the day, she told us that she was lonely most of the time. But about a week or so later we visited Senovia’s house we found Maria, Senovia and Senvoia´s mother in law all praying together. They told us that they had been praying together and have made it an weekly thing. She loves the Lord so much and thrives for nothing less.
Alvero´s family – A really cool guy and his family, who loves the Lord so much, who strives to grow closer and closer in a deep relationship with Jesus. We got to share life experience and talk about Jesus with them, sing worship, and Christmas songs together, share a meal and just spend time and get to know each other.
Cecelia’s family- A family we got to speak with and just share life stories, a family who had a pizza party with us , a family who runs after the father’s heart so well. A family full of joy and thrives to be closer with the Lord everyday.
Yolanda’s family A family who loves the Lord so much, who follows the calling upon their lives from him. Yolanda and her husband felt the calling from the Lord to heal people in the village. So many people will come over for healing. Her and her husband have impacted our lives a ton, by taking time out of their days to chat about the Lord and pray with us and for us.

–We wanted to make sure that these families could come and hang out all together with us one last time. So we decided to have a dinner party. We invited all of our closest friends from the village. Thursday we went to activation day and returned at about 2. After this it was time to cook, the team decided we would make chicken and dumplings with corn and no-bake cookies. We were getting all of this prepared and while we were our Corrales friends showed up with huge smiles on their faces. We finished the food and shared a few words with them on how they have impacted our lives and how sad we are to leave but we know that all of them are leaders in the community and that they are going to do so many great things in Los Corrales. Then we all sat down and ate and just chatted about life and shared funny stories from our 3 months of being there. After dinner was done we sang a few worship songs, Alvero one of the men from the village decided to sing a song for us. After worship we all got in a circle to pray and just before we did some of the people from the village decided to share how we have impacted their lives and some of the funny stories, like how they tried to teach us to make tortillas and they looked horrible or we may have dropped a few on the ground.
-I am beyond sad to be leaving Guatemala, my favorite village, my friends, chicken buses, tiendas, choco bannas, sarita and many more. But I am beyond excited as we prepare to head to Thailand and what God has instore for us. I also have a little update about where we will actually be and what we will be doing in Thailand ….but You will have to stay tuned to the upcoming blog this week to know the info and news about where and what we will be doing!
