Hey y’all just want to update you on where and what me and my team have been doing the last 3 weeks and what is to come next!!

So when we arrived in Thailand, all the teams got split up into different places and ministry’s!

My team is in a little village called Ban Doi, where we teach English at a school for Pre-K thru 6th graders.

Kelsey teaches- Kindergarten

Abbey teaches- 1st grade

Mary Grace teaches- 2nd grade

Brooke teaches- 3rd grade

Lauren teaches- 4th grade

Emma teaches- 5th grade

And I teach the 6th graders

We arrive at school about 8 O’clock every morning just in time for the flag ceremony that the students have every morning! After this we have group learning games/activities, were my 6th graders are with the 4th and 5th graders. The 1st,2nd and 3rd graders are all together and the Pre-K and Kindergartners are together, playing games and seeing songs until about 8:45 ish when classes starts.

After games and activities we head to our classes if we are scheduled to have a class at that time. All schedules are different for each grade and different teaching materials as well.

Usually I will teach my lesson I have prepared and if we have extra time we will go and play soccer or volleyball with the students. Some days the students have art which are my favorite classes because they are such good drawers, other classes are teaching English, Pe/sports and learning about cultures.

As some of you may wonder is it hard to teach kids that don’t speak the same language?

The answer is sometimes it a little difficult to explain, but if you use pictures and write they get it better.

Everyday at 11:30 we will have lunch with the other teachers. Conversations are a little hard, as the teachers do not speak English very well.

After school sometimes we will have a volleyball tournament against the teachers, which is a blast. The students will stay and cheer us on.
