This week we started our ministry that we will be doing for the next 3 months. We will be working in a small village called Bola De Oro doing lots of different things. On Mondays we will be teaching English, on Tuesdays we will be doing arts, on Wednesday we will be doing discipleship, on Thursdays we will be doing ATL which is when we pray about it and see what the Lord wants you to do that day, and on Fridays we will be doing sports. On top of each days scheduled plan we will also be doing home visits to people in the community.
On Thursday we were doing ATL and we were led to a man named Filipé’s house. Filipé has a wonderful wife, 14 children, and 40 grandkids. Filipé loves his family and the lord more than anything but for the past 6 years he has struggled with severe arthritis and it is hard for him to get out of bed most days. We sat with Filipé and talked him about his life, family, and relationship with the Lord. He told us how he wouldn’t be here without God and that God has provided everything for him and his family. He also told us how he was ofter in so much pain that he would pray that the Lord would take him home. We were able to encourage him and make it known to him that he is still there for a purpose whether its taking care of and loving his family or something else, he has a purpose! We got the opportunity to pray for healing over Filipé. When we finished praying he stood up and told us he felt like he was floating. He was free of pain.
WHAT?!?! GOD IS SO GOOD!!!
Filipé walked around free of pain for the first time in 6 years. I could see the joy in his face and the faces of his family. I am really looking forward to going back to Filipé’s house in the future to see how God is still working in his life!
