WOW!!!
The past two and a half weeks have been so so amazing and in one week I leave Thailand and head to Malaysia on a 24 hour bus ride. That bus ride will be a longggg ride but i’m super excited to be in Malaysia. My team and I will be in the northern part of Malaysia and we will be separated from our squad. That means saying goodbye to 29 other squadmates that I have to come to love a lot and consider part of my family, but i’m excited for the new depths my team will reach.
So the past few weeks…
The past few weeks here have been making it very tough for me to leave. I have met some really cool, amazing, life changing people. I have had the opportunity to grow deeper relations with them and have been blessed to have the opportunity to hear their stories. I have been able to hear all the ways God has worked in their life. I am going to be very bummed to leave them but thanks to social media there is always a way to stay connected.
My team and I have been working on a house at a new school that is under reconstruction. This school is for missionary kids to go to school at an affordable cost and not be home-schooled. In a few months the school’s mission is to allow kids who have been in the trafficking system to go to school safely.
Here when kids get out of the trafficking system their life is deemed unworthy and men will put hits out on their life. So these kids can not go to school and feel safe. This new school will provide safety and protection for them. They will be able to get an education and feel like normal kids to an extent.
So at the school there is a house where some of the teachers will live on site. My team and I were fortunate enough to meet a man and his family who will be living in the house. The man gave us all the instruction on what to paint and what color. This will be the first time he will live with his wife and his almost 2 year old daughter. For the past few years he has been living in the city Chiang Mai working while his wife and daughter have been living in Chiang Rai, about two hours away because of finances and work.
To see the excitement on his face and in his voice as we prepare the house was such a honor and so humbling. This will be the first time he lives in a actual house and the first time he will live with his daughter. We really take that for granted back home.
I have taken going to school safely for granted. I have taken living under a solid roof for granted. I have taken spending time with my family for granted. I have taken having work near my home for granted.
Learning about the lives of these amazing people I have met here has been so incredible. I can’t put to words the appreciation I have for Thailand and all those I have met here. Everyone here has touched my life in new crazy ways I never expected. My team has supported me through so much and so many emotions recently and I can not express gratitude enough to them.
Thank you to everyone who is taking the time to read and keep up with my blogs. You all are the reason I am here on this amazing journey and having these breathtaking experiences. Thank you for all of your constant support and words of encouragement. They mean a lot to me and really help me in hard times.
Thank you so much to everyone I love and miss everyone tons.
