As you know I’m leaving the country again! Seems like I just got home but the Lord has called me to do something really exciting in this next season. I’ve shared a little bit about it but I wanted to tell you what I’m actually doing now that I leave in just 11 days!
What is alumni team leading?
-As a world race gap year alumni I have the opportunity to help lead another gap year squad. It’s pretty much just walking out the beginning of the world race with a new squad, helping to set the culture, leading them in team times, and just doing life with them and getting to pour into them and disciple them!
Who am I leading?
-I have the privilege of being a part of leading gap Z this year! It’s a squad of 24 world racers, and I have a team of 6 girls. I got to meet them all at training camp in July, and wow I can’t wait to start this season of life with them. Z squad is already serving Jesus and loving each other so well, they’re gonna change the world in crazy ways this year.
Where am I going?
-In September I’ll be going to Costa Rica for three months!! We’ll be doing different types of ministry throughout our time there. The squad will be going to Costa Rica, Cambodia, and Swaziland, but I’ll just be with them in Costa Rica.
Why am I going?
-The World Race was an incredible nine months. I learned so much and the Lord transformed my life in so many ways. And I believe he is calling me to give away what I learned this year by leading this squad. I believe the world race allows you to create a space to focus primarily on Jesus and loving his people. There’s something really special about having nine months to go deeper with the Lord than ever before and just be exposed to more of his creation. I believe if we say yes to Jesus, he will use what we learn on the world race for far beyond the nine months(like for life!!!). I’m just really excited to continue saying yes with a new squad and allow Jesus to work in big ways.
I leave for launch in only 11 days(what!!!) and I’m still looking for some more support. I’m needing to fundraise $1,618. I’ve seen the Lord provide in BIG ways and I have no doubt he’ll do it again.
