Dear Reader,
Here is a basic structural blog for your own personal reference so you can get a glimpse into what daily life looks like.
So basic weekly layout:
6am- wakie wakie eggs and bakie! I usually get up this time for quiet time and the sunrise.

7am- Breakfast. My personal favorite and is always delicious. Usually eggs, fruit and some kind of carb (toast, oatmeal,
pancakes or even waffles!) ( also the filipinos LOVE carbs. Served at the head of every meal. Which is perfect for me!)

7:30am- team time!

Every day (Monday- Friday) is divided into two parts:
1st. ministry
-9am- 11ish
*Feedings everyday
Cleaning our living space everyday + *painting the Awana room
Mon- Children’s bible class
Tues-Women’s prison ministry.
Wed- Children’s bible class
Fri- Children’s bible class

-12-2pm- lunch and siesta

2nd. ministry
-2pm-4ish
*Feedings everyday
Cleaning living space everyday + *painting the Awana room
Scattered days where we do prayer walks
Thurs- Women’s Bible study

Then on Saturday’s we are apart of the local Awana program on the 3rd floor.

*feedings: We go to one of the 10 schools in Tacloban, feed the children, play with them and then help lead a Bible values class. This often involves lots of singing and dancing.

Painting the Awana room: A project that our team took on as a gift to the lighthouse ministry.( Progress photos will be uploaded at somepoint) This is a space specifically set a side for the larger children’s ministries at the lighthouse. However, because the works for the lighthouse are very busy, the room is often neglicted when not in immediate use. So the team has worked to clean it up and have plans to brighten it up with colors, pictures and decoration.

So basically everyday you pray or be assigned by our leader, Courtney, to a ministry for the morning and then in the afternoon. Some weeks we will have special ministries like working with kids with special needs at a local school. Or if there is a need in the community, our heart is to fill that need.

-Then we have free time in the evenings. We can take a triek to a local coffee shop, explore, rest, write or with some of our new friends who live in the area. Shout out to Noraine and Cathleen who love to laugh, sing, dance, tease and beat us at sports like volleyball and soccer.

-7pm-Dinner! Usually is more American styled. Most nights involves some form of pasta and a salad.
-7:45-Team time! Involves the days recap, feedback, worship,an activity and sometimes a team members testimony.
-9:30- Bedtime! For those of us who are night owls, this is often delayed by heart to heart conversation or a good book.
