Hi, I’m Hannah! About me… Well, I’m the oldest of 5 kids. I am 18 and I graduated from high school this past May. I was homeschooled/virtual schooled my whole life. Now that I’ve finished I am the first to leave the house and go on adventures 🙂
I feel that missions is important to me, especially since I have grown up with it all around me. My father was born and raised in Nepal because his parents were missionaries there for over 37 years. I also attend a church called First Missionary Church which has a strong focus on missions. My church supports and has sent out several missionaries. Also, my parents work in missions. They are part of a mission organization that provides support and encouragement to missionaries all over the world. About twice a year they travel to different countries visiting missionaries and supporting them however they may need it.
I have been on 3 local missions trips with my youth group to San Antonio (twice) & Houston TX. We ran a mobile VBS, helped at local shelters, helped clean up after the Houston flooding, was a counselor at a kids camp, and spent time fellowshipping with the local church people. Also, in 2018 during the summer I went on my first international missions trip with my parents to Bolivia. It was interesting seeing and experiencing a different culture and what it’s like to be a missionary in a foreign country. I guess you could say Missions is kinda in my blood.
So, a lot of that is why I chose to go on the World Race this year. The route that I chose is Route 3: Thailand, M., India, & Costa Rica. I am so excited to go on it especially since a couple of the countries is kinda special to me. Thailand is where one of my friends had a great missions experience so I really would like to go there. India is right next to Nepal which, as I mentioned earlier, is where my dad grew up; plus my dad went to high school in India. There wasn’t a route that had Nepal, so this was the closest I could get. 😉
