**This is a new series I thought would be fun to share with you about the good, the bad, and the ugly of travel days every month! These will most likely be journal entries that I have written. Hope you enjoy!

We had to be downstairs at 1 am this morning to leave for the airport. Once we got there, we set up camp and played Uno until we could check-in at 3:15 am. We finally made it through security and boarded the plane at 4:45 am.

We had a 3-hour layover in Miami where I got my first hour of sleep in over 30 hours and then hopped back on a plane to Honduras.

We landed in Honduras at 12:42 and was planning to take a 5-hour bus ride to our Airbnb but that didn’t work out so I found us a cute little hostel to stay in that doubled as a mission house!

Once we got settled into our hostel, we all agreed that we needed food so we walked 20 minutes to the mall to get the first meal we had eaten in 30+ hours and to get some snacks from Wal-Mart for our 2nd travel day.

Energy is running low and we need sleep! We decided to take 2 taxies back to our hostel from the mall but our taxi driver didn’t know where we were going so we rode around in circles for 15 minutes. Always an adventure!

I’m honestly praying I don’t remember the bus ride tomorrow, I really want to sleep the whole way there. Here’s to learning how to sleep anywhere, right?

Sleep finally came at 8 pm. It was glorious!

Today we woke up at 4:50 am. After getting ready and packing up our bags we grabbed a taxi and headed off to the bus stop. It’s day 2 and we’ve already blown our transportation budget for the month, so everyone may have to starve for a week. [Just kidding, I’ll make sure everyone eats]
We finally got to hop on a bus and head toward our final destination for the month!

UPDATE: Busses are NOT my favorite style of transportation. They aren’t even in my top 3.

Going up a mountain with curvy roads, a driver that continuously drives 15mph too fast, and guardrails that wouldn’t keep a dog from falling is my living nightmare.

I’ve always been overly cautious about things but I’ve never really wondered where my fear is actually rooted. So I decided to take it to the Lord. “Why am I the only one who seems scared?” “Where does this fear come from?” “How can I be at peace in every circumstance?”

Spoiler alert: He didn’t give me the answers I wanted to know. Instead, He told me to look at my bracelet.

Photo: My bracelet and new motto for the year, “BE STILL AND KNOW”. [Excuse my pasty skin, I’ve gotten some sun in the week that I’ve been here!]

So I was still, and I felt His peace wash over me. When we took another sharp curve way too fast and the fear crept back in, I sang worship songs. Peace.

Then I realized that this is what my year is going to look like. I’m going to get scared. I will have moments of weakness. I won’t always have everything together. I’m only human but all I have to do is run to the Father and He will wrap me in His arms and fill me with a peace that surpasses all understanding.

So I spent the rest of the bus ride focused on Him and His creation. He didn’t disappoint.
