Life has been so crazy lately but I wanted to update all of you on where I’m at with preparing for the World Race!

In just 12 short days I will be leaving for training camp in Gainesville, GA. Training camp will prepare us for almost any scenario we may encounter while on the field.

Each day will represent a different country and we will dress and eat according to the culture (totally not looking forward to Africa day where they feed us crickets…I’m totally serious). We will be sleeping in our tents, taking bucket showers, and using porta-potties to prepare us for living on the world race. There will be devotionals every morning, lots of classes on many different topics, and scenarios that we will definitely encounter such as sleeping in a simulated airport, spending a day sitting on a bus, fitting 15 people in a 10 person tent, and even a night where we will have to build our own shelter and cook our own food with our team! There will be lots of workouts and we also have to pass a fitness test; we will have to hike 2.2 miles in under 38 minutes with all of our gear on our back. (It is absolutely as terrible as it sounds!)

The most exciting part about training camp is that I get to meet all of my squad members that I will be doing life with next year! We will spend 11 days getting to know each other as much as possible and I couldn’t be more excited! At some point during camp, we will be put into teams of 5-8 and this team will be who I will be living with throughout next year. (Our squad is all 27 of us that will travel together and our teams are who we will do life and ministry with)

I’ll be honest, I haven’t even had time to think about packing or what I’m taking yet but I will start making lists this week!

I can’t wait to share my stories about training camp with you!
