What we are
Orphans, kingdoms
– Brooke Fraser

Near the beginning of my blog, or when I started this World Race journey, I wrote a blog about the spirit of adoption (read that blog here). God showed up in my room one night in such a physical way that I remember feeling His love so intensly and knowing that I was loved and adopted into His kingdom.
This month, being here in Mozambique, has been intense and kind of hard. We've had a lot of sickness and darkness.
Last night, we were asked to meditate on the goodness that God has done here and share with the group. I didn't share anything, it seems to much to share in a quick blirp, I mean God has done so much. So I thought I would share it in a blog.
The main word that comes to me about this month is the spirit of adoption….its come back to me. From the beginning of this journey, to the first month.
Meeting Tati and look upon faces of many orphaned in this country, I am reminded that God's Kingdom is for us.
Us, the broken
Us, the hurt
Us, in pain
Us, Orphaned
But this month, God has revealed to me His love. That nothing can separate us from the Father's love.
"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US.
Drug addictions, sex addictions, hateful actions, perverse thinking, different ways of thinking, different backgrounds, self-hatred, crimes we've done, crimes against us, etc….NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US from the love of the Father through the shed blood of Christ.

You see….we've made ourselves orphans by blocking out the Father's love.
Christ died so that we may come face to face with the Father and be called His children. He died to take the name orphans off of us.
Adoption is His option for you….He wants to adopt you into His kingdom!
My verse for you is this, Romans 8:15-16:
"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have recieved the Spirit of adoption as sons (or daughters), by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him."
Abba Father,
I pray for Your children, that they rise from the slavery of sin and begin to cry out to You, their Father! I pray that you begin to put on them the spirit of adoption! That they may be orphans no longer!
Amen.
As I prepare to say goodbye to Mozambique I want to declare some things about this land and you!

I am declaring that Mozambique (you are) is God's nation (son/daughter) , that He has adopted this nation (you) for His kingdom. That His children of Mozambique (you) are His! That the smiles and laughs of the people (you) are His! That the darkness will not rule over this nation (you), but that this nation (you) will rule over the darkness by the very name they (you) are marked by, Jesus Christ!
Mozambique is (you are) God's!
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, so that we might recieve adoptions as sons (daughters). And because you are sons (daughters), God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" So you are no longer a slace, but son (daughter), and if son (daughter), then an heir through God.
Galatians 4:4-7
