Hello! I'm Hannah!
And I'm married to this cool dude!
And I grew up in a the medium sized town (betcha never heard of one of those!) of Palatka, Florida. If you have ever heard of Palatka it was probably mentioned while quoting a statistic about drug use or teen pregnancy. Sad and true!
But, as much as I hate to say it, Palakta actually has some good to offer! It got me through 21 years of life and wasn't as torturous as I thought in high school. I have come to appreciate it. From afar!
My family is big and weird. I say that with a lot of love!
Don't believe me ? I'll prove it.
I have:
3 1/2 sets of grandparents
5 parents
13 or so aunts and uncles
13 cousins
8 second cousins
2 half brothers
1 brother in law (soon to be two!)
1 brother-cousin
2 sisters (one step, one in-law)
1 fairy godmother
and a partridge in a pear tree
As of lately, I'm living in Jacksonville, FL with that hunk up yonder and the majestic creature below, Hercules!
The story of how Justin and I came to apply for The World Race is pretty cool. Read about it here!
And, seriously…
I'm a wreck.
In the last 3 years God has taken my sweet, little world and shaken it up. I had a comfortable, religious foundation that I was ok with…but it crumbled. I was sinking but not before being tossed around in a sea of insecurity. Fear and loneliness, my closest companions.
Then Love came down and rescued me.
He set my feet upon a rock.
But now I have NO clue who I am. I've had to start all over again figuring out what is truth and what is light.
And, so far, I don't feel like I'm doing such a great job…
Ghandi said:
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
God is telling me:
There are pieces of me, of my identity in Him on the beaches of Thailand, the streets of Cambodia, the rice paddys of Vietnam and Laos, in a child's eyes in Tanzania, a hut in Mozambique, a worship service in Swaziland, a dirt road in the DR, in the view of the beautiful mountain range of Haiti, shining through an elderly woman's smile in Moldova, hidden in the hug of a gypsy in Romania, and seated upon a bar stool in Ireland.
It's up to me to go find them.
And I'm asking you to tag along! 🙂
