I looked up into the night sky as I felt cold little fingers wrap around mine.
The sky was clear & the stars were shining brightly.
We were headed to our last house of the night to sing Christmas carols & share the love of God to the local villagers. We had already been to four houses where we sang, gave gifts to the families, ate delicious snacks that they offered as gratitude, & shared the gospel & the love of Jesus. My heart was full as one of my little Thai babes, Sukat, glued herself to my side.
This is what it's all about…I thought…
Christmas is about love, it's about pure joy, it's about Jesus & loving others the way He does.
Innocent love.
In the midst of all of my ramblings going on in my head, my feet had successfully made it to the last house. I stood in awe as I watched the joy continue to spread through everyone caroling to the family. My team & I finished our carefully practiced version of jingle bells (which we had to switch up at the last minute) & I watched as the three mighty warrior men of God (two of which we serve alongside) as they stood in front of this sweet middle-aged woman tightly cuddled in a blanket trying her best to stay warm. They began sharing the love of God with her & we all stood patiently, praying & giving her all of our Jesus love.
On the walk home I held my little Sukat's hand a little tighter and squeezed her a little closer as I thanked God for the blessings in my life.
This Christmas is definitely a special one as I truly realize & am living what the true meaning of Christmas is all about…
Jesus & only Jesus.
