This time next year I’ll be gone and I will be celebrating my 25th birthday somewhere between Serbia and Albania. WOW. I honestly cannot even wrap my mind around that. That I will finally be doing something that I believe God has set on my heart while turning 25! WOW, I’m sorry, have I already said that?
Like I’ve mentioned before, in August of 2016, I will be leaving for a yearlong mission trip that will end up reaching 11 different countries. Our ministries will vary greatly depending on who our ministry contact is and where in the country we will be located.
One thing that will stay the same from place to place is that we will be filling very real needs in every country and city we are in. Our days will be filled with a variety of activities. Whether it’s manual labor, planting churches, teaching English, helping in orphanages, bringing energy and relief to weary workers, or creating a safe environment for sex trafficking victims, I’m sure our days will rarely look the same.
As with all missionary work, there is a price tag. A price tag that I will need help with, even though I am working very hard to contribute to as well. In order to do this, I thought I would come up with a fun way to kick off fundraising. My hope is to bring awareness to what I am working towards this next year and to build anticipation for launching.
I don’t know about you, but when I see my end goal at the top of this screen of around $16,600 my breath catches. It’s in these moments I remember that God has called me to this, and I am confident He will provide! So instead of looking at the end goal, I am asking that today, on my 24th birthday, we start by only looking at 24% of that goal! 24% ends up totaling about $3,984, which I think is a great start!
If just 130 more people choose to give $24 for my 24th birthday, we’ll be there.
