If everything you believed in wasn’t real, would your life be over?

My squad got asked this question last week by one of our leaders.

It’s a great question. Really all she’s asking is. Are you really following Jesus with everything you have?

My answer …

Well, Yes. Of course I am. I’m on the World Race and I gave up everything to be here. I left it all behind. Quit my job, sold my stuff, moved across the world and cleared my bank account.

Man. I should get an award.
I gave it all. Didn’t I?

On second thought.
No, I’m not giving it all. I’m still holding onto things that aren’t mine to hold.

Brokenness, pain, stress, distractions. The list goes on.

I think The hardest part is believing the gospel. Could it be!? That there is a God with a love so scandalous, so deep, so vast, so wide, so inclusive, so overwhelming…

It’s almost to good to be true. (It is). So we hold onto what we see and feel. We try to save ourselves and search for all the right answers and perfect timing.

We don’t have to hold on. We don’t have to have it all together. We don’t even have to have all the answers.

It is possible to get lost in the unknown and still know you’re going in the right direction.

Letting go is hard, but until we let go. We won’t be living.

So ask yourself. Are you holding onto anything?
