Hello Family and Friends!
This past year has been a big one filled with many firsts in my life. I am currently finishing up my ultrasound clinical and am looking forward to graduating in May! While working, God put a mission trip on my heart and though I threw the idea out as crazy at first, it was something that I couldn’t shake. The World Race definitely caught my attention but I was looking for a safer, less radical trip to go on. Not one that seemed designed to turn my life upside down. But through scripture, advice, and lots and lots of prayer, I knew this was the trip God had planned for me. God brought me full circle and as I wrap up my graduation in May. I know this is what God is calling me to in the next chapter of my life!
The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. It is through an organization called Adventures in Missions. I LOVE what this mission trip has to offer. Not only are we serving those who need it most in our world, we are spending those 11 months fully relying on God and his faithfulness. Throughout the WR my team will serve alongside Christian organizations and churches set up in local areas. Our work varies from month to month, but some examples of missions are helping with street ministries, working in orphanages, ministering to people in prisons and to women and children trapped in human trafficking. Our goal is to share the gospel and bring hope to the people we come in contact with in our journey. Right now our journey is taking us to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe!
I know I will face many challenges while on the World Race. This trip is hard, and designed to stretch us and challenge us in our faith. The most important thing I can ask of you is your prayers! Please pray for safety and guidance as my team starts this adventure. Pray for the people we will meet, that their lives will be changed and they can know our amazing God. That being said I am also counting on your financial support! This trip is a trip of a lifetime and it is not possible without your donations. In order to begin what God has planned for me this September, I need to raise 16,267.00. This money covers all of my expenses including travel, lodging, insurance and food. It seems daunting but if 100 people donated $35.00 for only 5 month I would have over enough to leave in September fully funded! As I take this huge leap of faith I am asking that you to prayerfully consider supporting me either with a one-time or a monthly donation. You can donate by writing a check and sending it with the paper included in the letter, or donating online at the www.worldrace.org . Find the Give tab at the top and follow the on screen instructions. You can also write a separate check out to either Allensville Mennonite Church, or myself. I am also raising money to cover the cost of supplies, vaccinations, and loan payments while I am gone. IF you are sending a check to either place please make sure you put my name in the memo to guarantee the check makes it to my account.
