Because He provided me a job? Nope, He hasn’t done that.
Because He got me a car? Nope, still without a vehicle.
Because He provided me $1,000 so I can fly around America and visit friends? Nope, that hasn’t happened.
Because He made icicles.
Wait, what? Icicles? Really?

Well, it was just today that I realized what He was trying to tell me. To DELIGHT in Him. No matter the season, no matter the place, the time, the circumstances, to delight in Him. To find JOY in Him. No only when things are going well, not only when I am in the sunshine by the ocean in flip flops. But when I am in the snow, the cold and my boots. Its easy for me to delight in His presence when I am by the ocean, when I feel the warmth of the sun, when I hear the waves and can smell the sea. Its natural for me to find joy and delight in those situations. But, in a crazy, New England winter its hard sometimes. But in those times when we are not in our natural delighting place we are still called to delight in Him, and to find our joy in Him.
And honestly, icicles have been a source of joy for me these past weeks. Anytime I have been sad or lonely or just not joyful, I would look outside my window and see these crazy icicles and get so pumped! It didn’t matter if it was storming outside or leaking in the house, I couldn’t get over how amazing these icicles were! This is what God wants from us- to really just find Him wherever we are and to delight in Him and His creation and who He is. So yeah, God is awesome! Icicles are awesome! You are awesome! Awesome, awesome, awesome!! Those are my thoughts.

“Oh, ah, I don’t live over here. I live in the complex around the bend.”
“Then why are you here?”
“Um, just going for a walk to look at icicles…..”
“You don’t have them over there?”
“Well, we do, I just wanted to see more.”
“Oh.”
I think she thought I was crazy. But it made me laugh at myself when she walked away. I mean, it is kinda weird that I enjoy walking around the area staring at icicles.
