God speaks deeply into my heart through music. Singing with my church family during the worship service this morning was so good for me. I could practically feel the misfortunes of yesterday melt away.
Creator God, He is Yahweh.
The Great I AM, He is Yahweh.
Lord of All, He is Yahweh.
Rose of Sharon, He is Yahweh.
The Righteous Son, He is Yahweh.
Three-in-one, He is Yahweh.
Yahweh. Yahweh. Yahweh. Yahweh.
Yahweh. Yahweh. Yahweh. Yahweh.
YHWH. The unique name of God.
There was a time when God’s people dared not even speak it, out of fear and reverence. There was a time when God’s holiness was untouchable, the Most Holy Place separated from the rest of the temple by a thick veil. There was a time when only God’s appointed and annointed could ask for forgiveness on behalf of others.
Yet because of the perfect life, blood, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I can.
I can speak His name, I can go to Him in prayer, I can approach His throne. I can cry out to Yahweh, not only because the veil is torn, but because God has clothed me in His Son’s righteousness.
My friends, that is amazing grace.
