I grew up in a city of oceans and mountains, and attended college in a suburb by Lake Michigan. I learn languages one (or two) at a time (but I don’t recommend the latter), and grow to love the people and the cultures of the world along the way. Poetry and photography are my biggest creative outlets. Since the third grade, I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I would like to adopt children one day.
My relationship with God is the most important thing in my life.
My faith gives me purpose and gives me hope, and is the biggest part of my identity.
In the spirit of #11n11, here are eleven random facts about me:
1. I was classically trained in piano and ballet. I’m not particularly great at either.
2. I love to sing.
3. When it comes to laughing or crying, once I start, I can’t stop.
4. My favourite colour is purple. My school colour is purple. Our squad colour is purple. I own a lot of purple.
5. Windy days make me feel alive, even after four years by the Windy City. I prefer cold weather over hot.
6. I am extraordinarily clumsy.
7. I have a detail-oriented memory.
8. I like all fruits and vegetables. Except papaya.
9. I am a proud Chinese-Canadian.
10. I almost always write in cursive.
11. Job and Isaiah are my favourite books of the Bible.
