I am so thankful for life right now. No, I did not have a near death experience, or hear some super amazing news, but recently life has just been good. I’m thankful for the small things.
I just got back from a relaxing week at the beach. It was AMAZING! The sunsets were gorgeous, the weather was nice and 70 all week and I had great friends surrounding me! And, most importantly, I got to rest! This trip was the very definition of R & R: rest & relaxation! Thank you Jesus!
While on this trip, we stayed in a timeshare Zach’s parents own.—> It was great! When we arrived for check-in the lady at the front desk was very, VERY nice. She truly seemed interested in who we were and making sure our accommodations were comfy for the week…which they were from beginning to end.
Anyway, one evening we were trying to decide where to eat for dinner. We walked over to the lobby building and asked them where a great, inexpensive seafood place was. After a fun conversation, highlighted book, and recipes given we had decided to go with what the lady said was a tradition: a seafood grille on the beach and ice cream for dessert! ๐
As we were headed out of the building, the lady stepped out from behind the counter and called for us to wait a second. She held out her hand, full of cash and said, “The Holy Spirit told me to give you this to bless your dinner tonight. Have an awesome dinner!” I was speechless as she insisted I take the money. I finally spoke out and said, “Thank you so much! The Lord will definitely bless you for this!” She walked back to her station shouting, “Amen sister!” ๐
Ice cream for all 6 of us was on Him! Thanks Jesus! ๐
That night as I was telling my mom the story of our generous resort staff, I had a spiritual check point. This lady, although very personable, did not know who I was, nor did I tell her I was a Christian or talk about that (shamefully) stepped out in faith to hand me her last bit of cash. Maybe that was her next tank of gas. Maybe it was all she had left that week for food for herself. She gave it to us anyways. Wow. What faith she must have! Definitely an example I need to follow.
Have I been doing everything the Holy Spirit has asked of me lately? Have I been obedient? Have I given up myself in order for someone else to be blessed?
