Tirana, Albania is a pretty exceptional city. The people here are the most friendly, but they still consider it weird to wave & smile at people they have yet to speak to. However, once they realize we’re American, they come around & love to try to talk to us.

We have been extremely blessed with our time here. People have bent over backwards in order for us to be more comfortable.

  • Coffee is a HUGE thing here. It’s not like American coffee, more like espresso. A whole cup of espresso! Haha
  • The language of Albania is, umm, well…not the easiest, but  we’re learning. People enjoy trying to teach my southern accent self new words and phrases in their language. It’s great!
  • They do not sell produce or bread in the local “grocery” store. You have to buy it from the local neighbors–which we LOVE!
  • Building relationships is their thing.
  • Speaking of bread, a meal is NOT complete without 2 or 3 loaves of bread per table–if not more.
  • The people here have HUGE faith. In God, family, and friends. It’s all important. We are very much taken care of. It’s wonderful!

Thank you for all of your prayers! I love you all! More posts to come–stay tuned!
