Greetings from the field!
I admit I have been TERRIBLE at keeping everyone updated with my Squad Leading journey. I have already been on the field for three months and only have two to go, but I hope to do a better job of letting y’all see my travels.
Many people are curious as to what this trip looks like and how it differs from my original race. As far as day-to-day goes, it doesn’t look all that different. I have several added responsibilities, but for the most part I am still doing the same type of work on top of my other responsibilities.
I spend my months traveling to different teams within O Squad, partnering with whatever ministry they are partnered with for the month, and I love it. I have been able to love and do life with all 43 of the squad members instead of just the people on a small team.
I have so much to share, so much to tell all of you about, but I will start with what a month looks like for me.
Currently I am in month 4 in Guatemala, but today I want to tell you about month 1 in Costa Rica through photos!

Ocean’s Edge Ministries

Here is a glimpse of what ministry looked like this month. A LOT of manual labor. We worked hard on much needed renovations around the ministry’s compound to make the facilities that much better for future teams. This included roofing, painting, digging ditches, breaking up concrete with pick axes, and much much more. It was hard work, but extremely fun. I always enjoy ministry where I can work work with my hands.

The other part of our ministry was heavily people oriented. We put on a kids day camp with an underwater theme, which I was able to paint some scenes for. I LOVE any time I get to paint as part of my ministry. We taught Sunday school, interceded for the city, and served in the local missionary church.
Prayer was a huge part of our month. It has become one of my favorite parts of living in a city or working with a ministry. Often my favorite days are the days when we hike to tops of mountains or look-out points to pray for cities as a whole. We did this several times over the course of this month. I love it. I often wonder why I don’t do things like that in America.

Central American good is one of my favorite types of food. Gallo pinto (rice and beans) fried cheese, tortillas, plantains, what can get better than that?

This month was full of adventure. Waterfalls, surfing, rain forests, beaches, farmer markets. I’m so thankful that along side ministry I get to experience what each country has to offer.

This month I was able to visit two teams that were at the same ministry. Normally my months include traveling between teams in different locations, but month 1 I was able to stay put all month, what a blessing!
Team Branches of Peace and Team Kaleo. These two teams were such a blessing to work along side! I was extremely blessed by their love for Jesus and hard-working attitudes.

I have 2 MONTHS left on the field, and I still need about $900 to be fully funded for Squad Leading. Please prayerfully consider donating. Will you partner with me as we enter a new year?
