(Before you dive into this blog, I highly recommend reading the one before this, Our God is Healer, if you haven’t all ready. God is doing some amazing things.)
Last year was a year of physical therapy, doctors appointments, and struggles against my weak flesh. After a rough season, getting back on my feet was a long process. Even after therapy and protecting it, running even one mile was painful and almost impossible.
After the Lord healed my knee, I had some learning to do yet. The night that it happened I lied in bed and watched the spiritual warfare that was taking place. The Lord allowed me to see just how much He was protecting me. For about 30 minutes I watched black claw like things coming out of the ceiling trying to get at me. However, just before they reached me a flash of light in the shape of a sword would fight them off. I lied in peace as this was going on because God overwhelmed me with His presence.
The next day I woke up and my knee was a little achy. I was so confused. “God, did I do something wrong? Did I misunderstand what was happening? Do you partially heal people? Is that in Your character?” I didn’t want to say anything to anyone because I didn’t want to bring dishonor to Gods name. As I prayed and continued to search for understanding, the Lords perfect timing, as always, brought so much peace. I was reading Corrie Ten Booms book and a lesson God taught her was that she didn’t need to worry about God’s honor because He would take care of it. That moment took so much pressure off my shoulders.
At one point in time the Lord used a friend to tell me that He was going to continue to heal me. It was like Jesus grabbed my face in this moment and spoke directly to me through her. It was incredible.
The next day I was sitting on the couch, drained of energy from the cold I had and the Lord asked me to go for a run. If I have learned anything thus far in life it is that when God asks you to do something, your best bet is to do it.
As I took the first ten steps of the run my knee was aching. I asked God what He wanted to accomplish and He said five miles. I was so excited because if that’s what God was asking, I knew that it was going to happen by His grace. After the tenth step all the pain in my knee was gone and it hasn’t hurt at all since.
During that run I had the chills. THE WHOLE TIME. It was 80 degrees at 3PM in the afternoon. Gods presence was overwhelming. Friends, let me tell you, other than when I played sports in high school, I have NEVER run five miles at one time. Nonetheless in only 59 minutes. Much less after a year of not even being able to really run at all.
I have this dream that when we get to Heaven we get to spend 1,000 years with just Jesus. Dancing, laughing, singing, and listening to all the stories He has to share. For the hour of this run it was like this dream had come true on earth. My body felt no pain, not even my asthmatic lungs.
I’m not sharing this to toot my own horn, I’m sharing it to bring glory to God the Father. HE IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE TODAY AND PERFORMING MIRACLES. May the testimony of my life and my character be assurance that this is truth. Will you choose to believe that God works in ways that are miraculous and cannot be understood?
If God hadn’t of healed my leg, I wouldn’t be leaving for the World Race in June. I would have had to have surgery and go through another year of physical therapy. But Jesus had compassion on me. He has plans for me on the World Race. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me by giving financially? Will you be praying that God would continue to work in miraculous ways to set His people free?
Who is God to you? Is He the alpha and omega? Or have you put Him in a box? Well my friend, open up that box and ask to see God as He truly is. May God bless you and keep you.
