(Quick update: our location has changed to Nalgonda, India. We will still be doing the same ministry. Just a different city!)
I’m sitting here in Atlanta, GA dreaming about what the next 11 months of my life are going to be like. And the truth is, not even my imagination can wrap my mind around it. I’m sure once I’m in the field and living the World Race life things will start to piece together and make more sense. But for now it just doesn’t feel real.
We have been in meeting after meeting learning all the details of what it looks like to be a team leader. My mind is quite full and we have two more days of training. The rest of the squad members showed up today and it is a joy seeing their faces once again.
I have a tiny bit of down time and I thought I would let y’all know some of the general details of this next year.
As World Racers our ministry looks very different each month. We partner with local churches and organizations to come alongside them and help with whatever we can. “See a need, fill a need,” as Big Weld says in Robots. A few common things include and are not limited to: loving on children in orphanages, construction, working with sex trafficked victims, teaching English, prison ministry, etc.
This month my team, Chosen Servants, will be working in Ongole, India. Our job will be to help plant a church in one of their villages. We don’t have a ton of details, but we are very excited to see what God has planned for us. We fly out the 1st of July and have a 16 hour flight to get to Hyderabad. We will be in training in India for 2 days learning how to be polite and respectful in their culture. Then our 7 teams split up throughout the country. A few teams, mine included, will then have an 8-10 hour bus ride to get to Ongole.
If you would join me in praying for safe travels and protection as we gear up to launch into the world, that would be super! Thank you all so so much! I will be posting a silly video soon so keep your eyes out 😉 xoxo
