Soturi. It’s a Finnish word for warrior. After team changes last month this was the name that we chose to call ourselves. It’s actually quite prophetic.
Our first team name was Chosen Servants. And as we went through the first two months of our Race that’s what we walked out. Searching out opportunities to serve. In India serving meant allowing others to serve us. (Which was the hardest thing ever. We came on this trip to serve, not be served. But the Lord really worked on my humility that month.) In Nepal, serving meant building a church for believers who were affected by the earthquake, and teaching English to women at risk. And this month in Cambodia, as team Soturi, we are learning what it looks like to fight for one another. You can be praying that the Lord would continue to work in mighty ways by unifying the body.
As we come to a close for month three the Lord has really made it evident as to what He is calling me into as I step into month four. He is prepping me for battle. He is asking me to become a warrior both spiritually and physically. This means working out. It means being proactive about meal planning. It means spending my days seeking out the Lords voice. It means spending time with my King in the mornings to kick start an intimate relationship with Him throughout the day. It means putting on the armor of God each day and trusting His protection over my life.
We leave Cambodia on the 24th and head to Chiang Mia, Thailand. We will be serving with The Haven Project doing an array of ministry projects. (One of the days even consists of loving on the elderly :)!!) I am so excited to step into the transition and look forward to becoming a warrior for the Lord.
You can be praying that month 4 is filled with grace, humility, and unity. You can be praying that I will put on war paint and step into battle for the Lord each day as His mighty warrior.
