When you hear about Moldova human trafficking may not be the thing that comes to mind, however, Moldova is the country where most human trafficking starts.  It is also the poorest country in Europe and because of this many people leave to find work in other countries; this leaves orphans behind to fend for themselves.  They are then tricked into going to other towns and countries by being told that they will find them a job.

Organ harvesting is another big issue for Moldova.  An orphanage up the street the children were sent to what they thought was a summer camp but when they came back they had scars from surgery in which they had kidneys removed.  The government is very corrupt and is involved with each of these problems.

When Team Impression first came to Cornesti, Moldova we were told that our ministry contact might not be the best, in fact no team had been to this location for several years.  We were also expecting our accommodations to be pretty rustic, we were told we would probably have a hole in the ground for a toilet and have to go to the next town to shower and use the internet once a week.  However, we found that we were staying in a nice church with beds, running water, and western toilets! This month has been such an unexpected blessing thus far!

This month we have a semi-regular schedule, which is another blessing.

9:00- Breakfast

10:00- Work at the farm

12:00- Team time

1:00- Lunch

2:00- Children’s ministry

5:00- Home visits

7:00- Dinner

8:00- Team time/Milk the cow

So far we have really enjoyed our ministries, we have a little bit of everything.  We are also living with some of the orphans and have started to build relationships with them.  Please be in prayer for my team as we build relationships with the people in Cornesti.
