When I began the race way back in September, month eleven seemed like a distant surreal thing. When talking about our route we would often dismiss Europe as those last two places where we’ll end up. Month ten and eleven didn’t seem real. I remember in month six we met up with a squad entering month nine. Even that seemed so distant.

But here we are… It is July 10, 2013. The date of our return to the States is moving closer and closer. Just as the end of the race seemed unreal back in Malaysia (month one), it does not feel like I’ve lived in ten different countries in the past ten months. As I think of coming home to all of your expectant and excitement-filled questions, I get a little nervous. I mean, really, where do I even begin?

This year has been full of so much life. More than I can even begin to express right now. It has been full of growth, healing, serving, loving, heartache, joy, sickness, pain, exhaustion, teaching English, singing and playing with children, loving on those deemed unlovable, worship, teaching, learning…. and more and more and more.

But we’re not finished yet!

We’re three days into our month in Romania. This month we are living and working at a church in Anina, Romania. We begin our mornings at a church-plant a little further into the beautiful mountains of Romania. We are helping to run a Kids Camp where we sing, teach English and play with the kids that live in the area.

After returning to our home-base and having lunch and a break, we teach an English class for the people of the church. The students range in age from 6 to 40. This class has been so much fun already. Later in the month we will be helping to renovate an apartment for a family in the area.

Our hosts this month are amazing. They have made it their mission to “spoil us,” but that’s just the beginning. They are incredible men and women of God. Their faith is inspiring. The stories of God’s power and faithfulness have been unending. We are so blessed to spend a month gleaning wisdom from them and forming friendships that will last far beyond the month.

I couldn’t have asked for a better month to end this crazy journey.

See you soon, America.

Speaking of America…

In September… just a month after I return to the States… I will be moving to Gainesville, GA to attend something called The Center for Global Action. I will be living in community with other alumni racers, working as an apprentice in a department of Adventures in Missions, and attending discipleship classes in the evenings. Check out the video below or the website by clicking on the link above.

And I need your help.

Please Support me as I attend The Center for Global Action

By September 1st I need to have raised $600.

For each month following I will need $300 to continue.

That's a total of $3,600 for the year.
