Before me stands a door. The door has slowly been cracked open and I’ve seen glimpses of what awaits me on the other side, but you can never really know until the door is flung open and you step through.

I look around the room I am sitting in. It‘s familiar. It’s comfortable. It’s stable. It’s safe.
A voice in my head says, “Why leave? You have something here that you can count on.”
But my eyes always return to that door. What is waiting for me on the other side?
I’ve seen images of the hard times ahead of me,
of sickness.
of pain.
of community so real it hurts.
I’ve seen images of the amazing times ahead of me,
of laughter.
of triumph.
of community so real it heals and restores.
I’ve seen images of the broken.
of the sick.
of the hurting.
I’ve seen images of blind eyes seeing.
of broken hearts being restored.
of redemption.
of hope.
of joy.

Forget this comfortable room! Let’s throw open that door. I’m ready to see what’s on the other side.
“You have said, ‘Seek my face.’
My heart says to you,
Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
(Psalm 27:8)
"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
(Romans 10:14-15)
Here am I! Send me.
