Since leaving for the race something I’ve been missing is the changing of the seasons. With leaving in September, I was teased by the beginning of the transition into my favorite season: Fall. The trees had just begun to change and each day grew a bit cooler. I love seasons. After a long summer, the cooler days are like a breath of fresh air. And just the same, after a long, cold winter the warm weather is welcomed with joy. It’s funny how eager we can be for the earth to shift into a new season, but when it comes to our lives we can be so resistant to the change of a season.

We were told from the beginning that team changes were a healthy expectation. But as I began to grow closer to Team Consuming fire, the thought of no longer being with them was a hard truth to swallow. I denied it for as long as possible, but the day finally came and here we are… on to month four with new teams.

Without truly realizing it, we became a family. I knew I loved these people… and I knew I didn’t want to leave them, but I didn’t realize how much I loved them until they were no longer officially my team. When I try to put the last three months into words, really, I’m at a loss. So, instead.. I’ll show you some pictures.

To Erin, Heith, Brian, Morgan, Emily and Celeste: Thank you for your amazing friendship the past three months. You’ve encouraged, challenged, and loved me so well. You’ve played a huge role in the work God has been doing in my life. I love you all and miss you so much already. I’ll never forget Team Consuming Fire…. oh, and Hi, Bear!
